Magnetic Island
Better known as Maggie Island, the reason for its name is the apparent magnetic effect it had on Captain Cook’s ship in 1770. While nothing has ever been scientifically proved, the name has stuck with the island and is an absolute pleasure to see. Visiting Maggie Island will give you the opportunity to see over 20 animals and plants that are rare, vulnerable, or even endangered. With secluded beaches, wallabies, and feeding the fish at Bremner point, you’re sure to find plenty of relaxing, yet not-your-typical-day things to do when you visit Maggie Island.
The Sydney Opera house
After a whopping fourteen year build, the Sydney Opera house finally opened in 1973 by Queen Elizabeth II and since then has become a major tourist attraction of Australia. Located in the centre of New South Wales, you’re definitely not going to miss it if you visit that area of the country.
