Although the amazing dives are what many people come to the area for, it is not the only activity you can enjoy. Here are the five things you can do at the Great Barrier Reef this year.

  1. The Beach

If you want to visit this part of the world but swimming just isn’t your thing, you are in luck. The big advantage of this part of the world is the stunning weather and stunning beaches. If you want to take a trip to Australia this year you can enjoy a few days lying on the beach, soaking in the sun and enjoying the view of the ocean ahead of you.

  1. Diving

We simply couldn’t make a list about this part of the world without talking about diving, could we? You can look on this website for a glass boat tour if you really don’t want to swim, however, most of the people who come here are ready to get under the water and see the spectacle below. There are 3000 coral reefs in the area and they are all housing hundreds and hundreds of animals. You will be able to get up close and personal with sharks, sea turtles and lots of fish during your dive, and it will be an experience you can never forget.

  1. Wildlife

If you don’t want to take on the dive but still fancy seeing some of the animals in the area you can visit an aquarium or simply sit in the sea and you will see so many species swimming below you. This area is the home of 10% of all species of fish, so it will likely give you the opportunity to see some creatures you have never laid eyes in before.

  1. Seafood

It is only right to expect that if you visit the fish capital of the world, that you will be able to enjoy some amazing seafood and experience the most real taste of the sea you have ever had. There are tons of options from freshly baked fillings to sushi for you to enjoy, and it will be the best seafood experience you have ever had.

5. Before It’s Gone

This isn’t an activity in itself of course, but it is a great reason to come and visit the Great Barrier Reef this year or in the next few years. With the rise of the earth’s temperature, waters are simply becoming too hot for coral and the coral is burning out. Without the coral, the whole ecosystem will fall apart and animals are forced to find new places to live. If you want to see this stunning spectacle in your lifetime, now is the time to do it.
