Bonjour from Paris, France!

I’m here with my 20-year-old daughter who—let’s face it—can throw on a thrifted jacket, swipe on some mascara, and look like she stepped off the cover of French Vogue.

Meanwhile, I’m over here trying to look stylish without sacrificing my arches, my dignity, or my patience.

If you’re like me—somewhere between 35 and 65 (I’m 54), love classic style, and value comfort (especially when strolling the Seine or hunting down the perfect croissant)—then this post is for you.

Here are 6 Paris-approved outfit ideas that ooze that understated French style and pair beautifully with ballet flats (a non-negotiable for me and my feet). These outfits are classy, comfortable.

Because looking chic shouldn’t mean hobbling down cobblestone streets in Paris…

THE Dress for Europe

Before we start, let me share my ultimate FAVOURITE dress for Paris, Rome, Athens…anywhere in Europe really…

This little beauty will have you feeling relaxed, comfy, sexy, and everything in between.

I know you are here for the Paris outfits, but if you are looking for the ultimate travel dress recommendation, this is it, ladies…

Paris Outfit Ideas

1: Highwaisted slacks + Classic Tee + Cropped Blazer

This is my go-to for feeling instantly put together.

Wear this combo walking through Le Marais and I promise you won’t feel out of place (even next to the model types sipping espresso).

The key? A cropped blazer. This one is super lightweight and glamorous and adds structure without feeling stuffy.

Shoes for Paris, Europe

I’ll be honest: I didn’t expect ballet flats to be my Paris MVP. But they’ve carried me across cobblestones, through museums, and into boulangeries without complaint. (Unlike my daughter, when I ask her to take another photo.)

Naturalizer Women’s Flexy Flats:

I love, love, love these Sam Edelman Felicia Ballet Flats:

They are super stylish and supportive. These flats offer a chic look without compromising on comfort

To finish this Parisian outfit perfectly…

I have written a post about how to sleep on a plane, and this bag is included in that post for a reason.

Every trip to Europe requires a bag that not only looks classy and beautiful but will also hold at least six bottles of something nice and a cartload of groceries.

A bag such as this is essential. No wiggle room here, ladies…

2: Dark Jeans + Silk Blouse + Longline Cardigan

This outfit is for those days when you want to be casual but not touristy (ie, every day).

I can’t believe I’m actually saying this about jeans BUT these Lee jeans will make you never want to take them off.

They are the comfiest jeans I’ve ever tried and very flattering too.

The blouse adds that French flair (it also looks great with a short skirt and tights in the winter months!)

And this gorgeous cardigan? Like a wearable hug when the breeze picks up along the river. I love it so much.

Underwear for those long days in Paris

When packing for Paris, take a pair of Knickers and two bras for each day.

I love love, LOVE these travel knickers. They are 95% cotton and are the comfiest underwear I own.

They have a soft and stretchy double-layer waistband, perfect for those days when your tummy is bloated (which, for someone who doesn’t do well with gluten but can’t resist a croissant every day, is often).

Honestly, take my word for it. Buy these knickers, and you’ll wear nothing else. Ever. —Click here for prices.
