If you’re thinking of taking a road trip across Australia but you have no idea where to start then don’t worry, you have come to the right place.
With so many different things to consider it is important you are preparing as much as you can in advance. Whether this means booking your flights or arranging your transport options, the more you arrange before you get on your flight, the better! With that in mind, here are 4 things to consider when taking an Australian road trip:
The first thing you need to think about when planning your Australian road trip is your budget. This means not only planning your budget for your flights and accommodation but planning your budget for all of your transport, food and activities. Although it may take a while to map out, it’s the best way to ensure you have enough money to carry out your dream trip. For tips and tricks when it comes to budgeting for a vacation, you can visit this site here.
Another important thing to consider is when you want to go on your trip. Whilst this may not be important to some, you need to consider the weather and whether or not it will prevent you from doing certain activities on your trip. Another important thing to think about is whether or not you’re going during Australian winter, as for most countries it will summertime whilst they’re experiencing their coldest temperatures. For guidance when it comes to Australian weather, you can visit this site here.
One of the most important aspects of your road trip is going to be the places that you visit. Whilst this is going to be one of the most exciting things for you to plan, you need to ensure you’re not getting carried away and that you create an itinerary that is going to be easy to follow. You don’t want to cut your time short in certain places just so that you can fit everything in, so remember to take your time. For great road trip ideas in Sydney, Australia, you can visit this site here.

If you’re going to be doing a road trip then you need to think about how you’re going to travel from one destination to the other. Australia is a huge country and if you’re covering a lot of distance, you may not be able to drive for each and every stop. If you are planning on driving the entire route, you will need to think about the best mode of transport. Whilst some people like to take a campervan, other’s prefer to take a car and either camp or stay in hotels. Remember some areas, such as the Outback, won’t have frequent hotels for you to stay at.
Are you planning an Australian road trip? What can you do to ensure you have everything planned before you leave? Let me know in the comments section below.

The last time I looked there were still 24 hours in a day. To my knowledge no-one has reduced it to nine. Yet talk to people and they all agree, time seems to be shrinking. It’s becoming rationed. No time for this, no time for that. I find myself struggling to find the time to be:
- A competent teacher,
- A kind and loving mother, who can be taken out in public.
- A calm and not too frantic wife
- A good friend who doesn’t blog about her besties.
- A dog poo picker upper.
- The scrubber of all things dirty.
- The sergeant major of all orders and jobs.
- The taxi driver (an unpaid one)
These past few months have found me particularly time starved. Probably due to both kids being at Mary Poppins rehearsals which opens in July, Brian getting busy at work, and me, trying to do everything and be everywhere. (more…)

If you’re hungry to begin your next adventure, and the sandy beach suburbs of Perth in Australia have aroused your interest, you’ve picked the right spot to take part in some incredible sightseeing activities to see and do around the Capital. Amongst deciding your spending money, whether to hire a luxurious rental car or opt for local public transport, your accommodation and so forth, you are of course also wondering what there is to do.
To take care of the last point for you, here are 4 impressive places steeped in history, culture and adventure to feed your appetite for seeing the world.

Swan Valley
The Swan River is nestled between the Guildford and Bells Rapids. With an abundance of activities to take part in, you shall be thoroughly entertained for a day or even two with your family or friends. In the valley, you are spoilt for choice, whether wine sparks your interest or food, or why not indulge in both at the wineries and food region tasting rooms. And the fun doesn’t stop there, perhaps a cruise across the river, or purchasing an edible souvenir from the gourmet food shop will add the cherry on top of a beautiful day as you head back to your accommodation to feast on fine food.
Fremantle Prison
This former world heritage site accepts curious minds to take a wander around the prison grounds which was built by convicts in the 1850s. Renowned as one of Australia’s premier tourist spots, the Fremantle Prison was used to incarcerate and at times punish prisoners for 140 years. Open to visitors, you may wish to embark on the labyrinth of tunnels beneath the prison, or for the fearless among you, take one of the torchlight walks. So if mystery and history spark yours and your co-travellers interests, this is a sightseeing day you can’t afford to miss out on.
The Bell Tower
For those who enjoy exciting architecture take a trip to awe at one of Perth’s most unique landmarks in the world, The Bell Tower. Where 18 bells hang in an 82.5-metre tall building curated from copper and glass, step into the history behind this facility and perhaps even get the opportunity to ring a bell within the tower. The Bell Tower also referred to as the Swan Bell Tower is a monument to suit all interests and ages, whether delving into the ancient practices of bell ringing or soaking up it’s rich history.
Kings Park And Botanic Garden
If being outdoors is where your interests lie, the Kings Park, situated next to the business district in Perth will not disappoint. Pack a picnic and enjoy soaking up Perth’s skyline, or alternatively check their official website to view a list of trails you can take to venture around the park. For instance, you may wish to head to the Saw Avenue picnic area, as you and your family discover the insect world, or take a walk to the Synergy Parkland playground to see statues of now extinct animals.
Whether spending a beautiful day at Swan Valley riddled with fine wine, and picturesque views, or a daring visit to the Fremantle prison, there are various family budget-friendly activities for you to take part in.
