If you have ever thought about leaving your home country and living somewhere else, then I bet New Zealand was on the shortlist.
Since 2010, New Zealand has seen, amongst other nationalities, 10,000 Americans and 42,000 British, leaving their old lives behind and moving to New Zealand.

And where little men live in green velvet caves.

Whether you are in the throes of moving to New Zealand or are about to visit this beautiful country, then you are on the right page.
In other posts, I cover the cost to live in New Zealand, and what it is like to raise kids in New Zealand – so if you are thinking of making the move to New Zealand and emigrating down under you might want to check those posts out.
But for now, to keep you on the straight and narrow I have 20 perfectly honest (maybe a bit too honest) truths to share with you about New Zealand.
All of them were positive (some of them were a bit munted), and yes, That is a real New Zealand slang word.

In August this year, we will have been living in New Zealand for 10 years.
I can’t quite believe it.
It seems just yesterday that we made the decision to emigrate to New Zealand with our kids from the UK. Our grounds for leaving were many, but here is the main reason we left the UK for NZ.
New Zealand has given us a fair share of surprises and not everything was plain sailing when we first arrived.
Every country has its pros and cons, and living in New Zealand is no exception.
But, while there are things that annoy us about living here (like having to get used to the many New Zealand slang words!), there are many, many positives that make New Zealand, in my humble opinion, one of the world’s top destinations.
