Using a New Zealand Immigration Advisor. The Pros and Cons 2022

I’ll never forget what a family member of ours said to us when he told him we were thinking of moving to New Zealand

“I hope you’ve got deep pockets”.

At the time I didn’t really know what he meant (maybe just as well), but after coming out the other side of emigrating from the UK, I found his words to be annoyingly true. Our bank accounts certainly took a bashing.

Moving To New Zealand. The Costs

There are loads of costs associated with moving to New Zealand. From little unexpected things such as passport renewals, visas and health checks, to heftier payments like packing, shipping, and paying for an immigration advisor to help navigate you through the process.

But here’s the thing. Each of those big costs is optional.

You don’t have to have a company come and pack your household goods away…you can do it yourself. Get a few million banana boxes from the supermarket and you’re all set.

You don’t have to pay for a 20ft container to ship your furniture and trampoline across the sea. Sell everything before you leave and start again once you get to NZ.

And you don’t have to employ an immigration advisor to help navigate the minefield of red tape. You can do it all yourself. You just need a lot of time and an enormous amount of faith in your organisation skills.
